Thalit Bayath Signs with Men’s Basketball
Men's basketball welcomes 6 '3 wing Thalit Bayath. Thalit (pronounced "THELL-ee") is originally from Anchorage, Alaska, but graduated from Burnsville High School in Minnesota. Thalit is a utility guy who can do a little bit of everything on the court whether it's scoring, rebounding, or defending. He provides versatility and length to the Lions roster! This past season Thalit was rewarded with the Defensive Player of the year award! Thalit can guard multiple positions and we are excited to have that defensive versatility on the team this upcoming season!
When asked why he chose Trinity, Thalit stated: " I chose Trinity because the culture there is very welcoming and comforting. I can get my degree while still being able to continue my basketball career. Trinity is also close to home so I can visit my family!
We sat down with Head Coach Jordan Nowell and asked about the signing of Thalit. Coach Nowell stated: "I'm excited to add Thalit to this year's team! I had an awesome opportunity to meet him, along with his sister and mom on their campus visit. Thalit is hard-working and attention to detail. I was impressed at how quickly he picked up concepts and movements during the time we spent in the gym together. He's got good size and is very efficient with his back to the basket. Combine all of that with his guard skills, and that should play well within our system. I'm excited to see what he'll be able to do once we get him on the court this season!"
We are excited to see Thalit on campus and on the court this fall!
