NCCAA Nationals Ends a Record Setting Season

New Records

-Chloe Thurber sets six school records and was only two seconds shy of the all-time fastest women's time for the 5k with a time of 20:58.  Chloe placed ninth at nationals as a true freshmen and looks to set the school record next year.

-Kaleb Renfro set the seventh best time in school history for the men's 8k with a time of 31:57

Awards

-Rachel Seidel earned the Women's Cross-country Scholar Athlete Award: To receive this you must be a junior or senior with an accumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher and exemplify Christ like characteristics.

Nationals Recap
The Lions Women Cross Country team sent two runners to the NCCAA National Cross Country Championships held at Belhaven University in Jackson, MS this past weekend.  For Chloe Thurber and Rachel Seidel it was each of their 1^st appearances at Nationals. There were 40 total runners in the Women's Championship race. Chloe Thurber ran a time of 21:18 for 9^th place, while Rachel Seidel ran a time of 23:46 for 30^th place 24seconds faster than her previous best.

The Lions Men's Cross Country team sent 2 runners to the NCCAA National Cross Country Championships Kaleb Renfro and Sam Jacob. There were 41 runners total in the Men's Championship race.  Sam Jacob ran a time of 30:22 which he finished 32^th, while Kaleb Renfro was unable to compete.

NOTES                                     
- Chloe Thurber's time of 21:18 is the fastest time by a Lions Women's runner at a National Championship race.
- Rachel Seidel ran a personal best by 24 seconds with a time of 23:46. 

-Kaleb Renfro was unfortunately unable to compete due to sever muscle cramps; if healthy he could of potentially got 25^th place if he would have ran his best time.
