Women’s Volleyball on a 3 Game Win Streak!
Women's Volleyball extended their winning streak last Friday during Trinity's Homecoming game, by defeating Free Lutheran Bible College in 5 sets! The game was electric from the start as our students showed up and showed out. The Lady Lions got out to a great start by taking the first set 25-19.
The FLBC Conquerors fought back taking the next 2 sets 25-15 and 25-20. With their backs up against the wall, The Lady Lions dug deep and were able to rally back in 4th set winning 25-19!
In the 5th set the Conquerors came out hot taking a commanding 8-3 lead. The Lions and Conquerors changed sides of the court and played on. The Conquerors hit the ball out of bounds making the score 11-8. Head Coach Quincy Wilson called timeout down three to regroup with his players.
Coming out of the timeout the Lady Lions scored 2 unanswered points with a block by Jenna LaDuke and an attack by Mikayla Ledgerwood that was tipped by Flbc and went out of bounds. That was followed by a beautiful ace served by Kayla De Campos! Free Lutheran took a timeout with the 11-10 lead.
Out of the timeout the Conquerors scored 2 quick points making the score 13-11. The Lady Lions stayed composed and made clutch plays to finish out the set. Jenna LaDuke and Ellie Ortega each scored kills on back to back plays that sent the crowd into a frenzy as the score was now tied at 13!
Jenna LaDuke slammed another kill giving the Lady Lions the lead. Mikayla Ledgerwood finished the game with an ace giving the Lady Lions the victory! It was the perfect ending to a great Homecoming week!
The Lady Lions are back in action October 1st at 7pm against Sisseton Wahpeton College. The Lady Lions will look to continue their win streak!
