Lions WBB Beats Kansas Christian College in ACCA National Tournament

HOW IT HAPPENED 

The Lions came out fast but they were matched by the Falcons in the 1st quarter. The Lions were able to grab a 3 point lead heading into the 2nd quarter.

The Falcons used a pair of runs to not only tie the game but grab the lead from the Lions before halftime.

The Falcons led at halftime 44 to 42.

The 3rd quarter saw the Lions offense come to life as they outscored the Falcons 26 to 11 in the quarter.

They Lions were able to carry the momentum into the 4th quarter to go on to the win.

The Lions defeated the Falcons 88 to 72.

NOTES

- The Lions shot 50 percent from the field (30/60), 21 percent on 3's (4/19) and 72 percent on FT's (24/33).

- The Falcons shot 35 percent from the field (28/80), 22 percent on 3's (5/22) and 84 percent on FT's (11/13).

-The Lions had 11 offensive rebounds to the Falcons 14.

-The Lions had 11 turnovers to the Falcons 4.

-Jaylen Newman led the Lions with a double-double with a season high 43 points and 16 rebounds on 14 for 20 from the field.

-Jaylen broke the Lions WBB record for most points scored in a single season with 790. (Previous record 779)

-Shaylyn Steinheuser added 25 points and 6 rebounds on 10 for 11 shooting from the field.

-Shaylyn's 4 offensive rebounds set a new Lions WBB record for most Offensive rebounds in a single season with 129.
