The Lions were able to jump out to a fast start behind a hot shooting start by senior Jaylen Newman. Newman recorded 15 points 1st quarter points.
The Lions started the 2nd quarter in historic fashion as Newman, who started the game needing to score 16 points to reach 2,000 career points, accomplished the tremendous feat. Newman stepped up to the free throw line and sunk her shot to a loud roar from the Lions fans in the Fieldhouse as she eclipsed 2,000 career points.
The Lions led at halftime 44 to 22.
The 2nd half saw the Lions continue to score offensively as the Wolves tried to battle back, but the Lions lead was too much.
The Lions beat the Wolves 76 to 46.
