Lions WBB Loses 1st NIAC Conference Game

HOW IT HAPPENED 

The two teams both got off to a fast start to open the game as the Lions and Mighty Mikinocks were tied 19 to 19 after the 1st quarter.

The Mighty Mikinocks would grab a 1 point lead heading into halftime as the game continued to be back and forth in the 2nd quarter.  

The Mighty Mikinocks led at halftime 36 to 35.

The 2nd half saw the Mighty Mikinocks push their halftime lead from 1 to 7 in the 3rd quarter as they outscored the Lions 26 to 20.

The Lions tried to battle back but could not cut into the Mighty Mikinocks lead as they went on to be outscored for the 3rd straight quarter.

The Mighty Mikinocks beat the Lions 80 to 69.

NOTES

- The Lions shot 33 percent from the field (23/68), 26 percent on 3's (8/28) and 65 percent on FT's (15/23).

- The Mighty Mikinocks shot 37 percent from the field (29/77), 37 percent on 3's (10/27) and 57 percent on FT's (12/21).

-The Lions had 15 offensive rebounds to the Mighty Mikinocks 21.

-Rebecca Olsson led the Lions with a season high 30 points, going 6 for 9 on threes and 10 for 14 from the field.

-Jaylen Newman added 24 points and 9 rebounds for the Lions.
