Lions Fall to Defenders in Season Finale


The Defenders would score 1st on a 40 yard touchdown run by Bryce Lidtka halfway through the 1st quarter.  

The Defenders would add two more touchdowns in the 1st half both on touchdown passes from Brock Lamle. The 1st one 19 yards to Jake Dodge and the 2nd 27 yards to Jason Millers

The Defenders led after the 1st quarter 21 to 0.

The Lions would strike 1st in the 2nd quarter on a 1 yard touchdown run by Landen Bradley, which capped off an 18 play 75 yard drive that took over 9 minutes.

The Defenders added an 8 yard touchdown run by Lidtka to extend their lead.

The Defenders took a 28 to 8 halftime lead.

The second half was as high scoring as the 1st half with the Defenders taking the 2nd half kick off back 84 yards for a touchdown.

The Lions answered right back using a 10 play 67 yard drive that took over 4 minutes off the clock with a 10 yard touchdown pass from M.J. Ybarra to Omel Francois.

The Defenders would again answer the Lions as just 2 plays later Lidtka would score on a 49 yard touchdown run.

The Lions offense answered back as well with a 14 yard touchdown run by Landen Bradley (his 2nd of the day) capping another long, time consuming drive, 10 plays 47 yards taking up 5 minutes and 5 seconds. 

The Defenders would add 2 more touchdowns and a 42 yard field goal as they closed out the game.

The Lions fell 59 to 24 to the Comets.

- The Defenders ran 43 plays for 394 yards of total offense.

- The Lions had 265 yards rushing and 71 yards passing.

- Trinity converted 10-19 third down tries and Defenders were 4-5 on third downs.

- Jeremy Hill led the Lions with 35 rushes for 169 yards.

- Landen Bradley had 26 carries for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns.

- Clint Stout led the Lions defense with 11 tackles.

- Garrison Day added 9 total tackles for the Lions.

- The Lions finish their 2016 season 4-7.

-Jeremy Hill finished the season with 1079 yards and 8 touchdowns, while Landen Bradley rushed for 706 yards and 9 touchdowns.

-Clint Stout finished the season with 143 total tackles (2nd most in a single season), 2 sacks, 4 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles and 4 fumble recoveries
